Thanks for stopping by. It’s great to meet you! And since you’re here, I’d like to introduce myself and share a little bit about me.

I’m Kathleen. A fun loving, adventure seeker. A 50+ year old mom, wife, sister, daughter and friend. A guitar playing, photo shooting, always learning and creating, kind of gal.  

I am glad you’re here. My intention is to bring forth to you a supportive, fun and caring environment about aging.

Some days, I am frustrated about it. But most days, I embrace it, tackle it, kick it in the big butt, laugh at it and just keep moving!

As I move upward in age, I am ready to redefine aging the “HAG” way or “new fashioned” way. With humor and grace.  Oh yes, and patience and perseverance and lots of gumption.

There are so many benefits to a positive mindset. Not only do you feel more confident and healthier, but the world around you feels like a happier place. Cheers! Is your mind on overdrive ? It’s easy to jump into the busyness of life and forget to take time for YOU. Today, my friend, keep it simple. Slow down. Take some quiet time for yourself just to breathe and rest your mind. Even five minutes can make a difference. After you’ve done this, you’ll find you can think more clearly. You deserve a day of enjoying the simple things in life. Engage those 5 senses. Listen to the birds. Hug a loved one (how about a fur baby???). Relish in the flavor of a favorite food. Breathe in the fresh air. Look at all the beautiful colors of nature that surrounds you. Keep it simple today. YOU deserve it! This weekend, I rode a mechanical bull. Yes, I got thrown off. And yes, I’m sore today. But here’s what I learned. The ride reminded me of life and life’s journey. It has its ups and downs. It tosses you around, and sometimes can throw you into a tailspin until you’re dizzy. It can shake your spirit. But more often, thankfully, life is full of pleasant surprises. Sure, some days you’ll have to hold on tight with all your might just to get through it. And on the days you are thrown down to the ground, get up! Yes, stand back up, wipe off the dust, and keep on moving. Here’s to life’s awesome journey. Enjoy the wild ride! Did you hear that sound? Was that opportunity knocking at your door? Did you answer? When opportunity knocks, take advantage of the learning experience and go for it! Whether it's an invitation to join a new group, or a flyer that arrives in your mailbox about a new skill you've been wanting to learn. Don't hesitate. Sign up. Register. Say yes! Open that door and step into the wild world of opportunity. You never know what adventure is awaiting you! Are you aware that opportunity is just around the corner? Sometimes it knocks loudly, sometimes it's very quiet. Take advantage of each opportunity that shows up in order to move yourself further towards your goals or dreams. May the 4th be with you! I love saying this phrase, not only because it references a great movie, but also because it means that spring is officially here. When we enter the month of May in the DC area, the spring flowers are in full bloom, the days are longer and there's a renewed energy in the air. I know I feel energized! So, on this 4th day of May, I'm wishing you a fantastic day! If you're facing any challenges today, remember the "force" is on your side. Cheers! For most of your adult life, you may have headed in a certain direction. Then, one day you realize that direction you've been focused on no longer serves you. It's time to pivot. However, you don't know where or how or what path to take. You may feel lost, even a bit confused. It's during this time that you'll dig deep into your heart and soul. Pay attention to your longings and frustrations. Analyze those, then move towards your longings. This will help you find the joy that you long for in your life. Reignite your passion for life. Allow yourself to take your time. Explore. Reimagine. Get creative. Discover a new you. Then recognize that being lost, then found again was a journey of self discovery and a new understanding of you. When you get outside, breathe deeply the fresh air, deep into your lungs for a count of 5. Hold onto that air for a count of 5, then let it out slowly for a count of 5. Do this several times and you will begin to feel relaxation setting in. Ahhh, that is a wonderful feeling. And don’t you deserve that feeling of calm? Yes, yes you do. I want to shout this aloud to the mountaintops- you CAN change no matter what age you are. You CAN decide that you don’t want what you currently have because it no longer serves you. As you age, your needs and desires change. You may need to make adjustments in your life to grow. Whether it’s socially, physically, mentally. A career change. An assessment on your current relationships. You can do it. You are allowed to do it. I encourage you to do it. And I believe in YOU! ❤️
